Another Notch on the Teamdonk Belt

We’ve done it… Teamdonk has logged over 400 hours of drive time!  It is always amazing to reach one goal and set another.

We had a cool start to the day with an overnight low again in the 30s.  By drive time it was a crisp perfect 58 degrees.  We drove the same route which put us head to head with the cows.  This time they only walked to the fence and stood quietly staring at the boys.  We are making progress!!

The rest of the drive was pretty quiet.  The deep green wheat, which is now over two feet tall, is beginning to head out.  The skies are the brightest blue and the air is so clean after the recent rains and has the sweet smell of spring time.  The canola is still bursting into yellow blossoms so when driving near those fields we continue to deal with a very active honey bee population that likes to check us out.  The distant mountains are still sporting white peaks with a recent fresh layer of snow.  This is the most beautiful of all the North Central Idaho seasons, but definitely the most frustrating weather wise!

On the way home I decided to finally change the balance on the Pacific Show Cart by placing the seat over the axle instead of behind it.  Going up the hills the pole and neck yoke want to rise and I’m getting tired of sitting on the edge of my seat to add weight to the end of the pole.   I also made a few harness changes and took a photo for the Sunshine! blog entry.  Tomorrow we drive again.

New Goals: 700 miles and 500 hours.
