We have Good News and not so good!

The good news is that today was our first field drive day…in the merry month of May!  Normally we are waiting for hay to be cut and bluegrass to be harvested.

The sad news is that we are losing our beloved bluegrass field.  We have had hundreds of really great drives here.  The ground is almost smooth with fun hills, gullies and it’s huge so we can go and go.  The market price of bluegrass has hit the bottom end of the scale so farmers are planning new crops for these areas.  This farmer went in and broke up the heavily plowed ground that surrounds the field yesterday.  It was just enough to allow us in.  We’ll enjoy it as long as we can but my driving days here are numbered, what a huge loss to Teamdonk, unless  of course it becomes a hay field!

Today’s Stats:  105 minutes of mostly field driving, we traveled a distance of 4 miles with a top road walking speed of 4 miles per hour.  We had a refreshing cool breeze with a high in the 70’s.  Teamdonk #2 has earned a few days off, Luc and Galahad you are scheduled to go next!

The photo is from last Sunday, this is how it looked as we started up the lane towards the house, that first pitch is just a little bit steep.  By clinking on the photo you can make it larger and easier to see.
